Each week we’re setting aside this time slot to provide a forum for fantasy football conversation. Bring your questions about who to start / sit in the comment section. We’ll also dispense free advice on trades and tolerate your stories about how great your long shot play worked out last week. Let’s help each other dominate our leagues and collect some virtual hardware.
The guy I’d like to talk about this week is Alvin Kamara. If you watched the New Orleans game, you likely saw the interesting split in carries and snaps between Adrian Peterson, Mark Ingram, and the rookie Kamara. If you were building the perfect back for this offense, he might come out looking like Kamara. The rookie is the best pass catcher of the three backs and earned a healthy third of the carries. If you’re in a PPR or 0.5 PPR league, this is the kind of volume that will pay off in a high octane offense.
Kamara was a target of mine in all of my leagues this year because he was cheap and unknown. In my early August prep, I had him in the same tier as Kareem Hunt, who quickly rose up the draft charts when Spencer Ware went down with an injury. Hunt obviously has the path to a great year ahead of him, but keep an eye on the situation down in the Big Easy. If he’s out there on your wire, find a spot for him this weekend and see what he can do against New England. I’ll be playing him where I can.
What’s going on with you? Did you get hit with the injury bug in week 1?
