NFL Week 2: Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Pre-Party Livestream and Open Thread

Welcome to week 2, as the Bears search for their first win of the season.

NFL: Atlanta Falcons at Chicago Bears Patrick Gorski-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, and as you wake up today, the Bears are still absent in the win column.

However close the Bears were to the upset of the Atlanta Falcons despite a passing game that struggled mightily through the better part of three quarters (and a chunk of the fourth) and a miscommunication leading to a long 88-yard touchdown drive, it was all for naught as the Falcons held off their furious four-down aerial assault.

It’s one of those things where you’d look at a six point loss to the defending NFC champions and probably be willing to take it in pre-season predictions and the like, but watching it in person is a different story.

They get a second chance to go for that first win of the year as they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who had their bye week moved to Week 1 to account for Hurricane Irma bearing down on Florida. Name a player, and it’s probably their #RevengeGame. Mike Glennon, Connor Barth, Chris Conte — no, wait, that was last year. Sadly.

The Navy and Orange still have their work cut out for them, as they return receivers with a grand total of ten targets, seven catches from last week’s game - numbers eclipsed by Mighty Mite Tarik Cohen himself. But hope abounds, as Tanner Gentry has been called up to save the day.

Get your party horns. Let’s do this.

So the first quarter thread shall pop at noon, with subsequent threads appearing as the game goes forward. At the conclusion of the game, we’ll have our instant recap followed by the threads for the late slates of games. In the morning we’ll have all our detailed breakdowns and all that fun stuff.

So with all the propers out of the way... Bear Down.

Welcome back to the Official and Only Twitch-Run Pregame Show on the SBNation Network of Sites, the Windy City Gridiron Sunday Livestream. Or we can just call it the WCG Sunday Livestream and be good with that.

The window down below here will light up at about 9:30 CT and take us to 11:30 CT, just in time for you to get your lunch for the game. Us hosts need to eat too. So for about two hours, Sam and I will talk to you about what we witnessed last Sunday, just how the Bears could possibly cobble something together and bounce back as a roster, and what needs to be done to throw together a win against the 0-0 Bucs.

I feel like I ran the disclaimer gag into the ground last week— wait a minute:
