Each week we’re setting aside this time slot to provide a forum for fantasy football conversation. Bring your questions about who to start / sit in the comment section. We’ll also grade trades and listen to how great your team is - seriously, no one else is going to do that. Let’s help each other win our leagues to ensure bragging rights around the neighborhood.
I’m off to a good start in 3 of my 4 leagues but my team in the Official WCG League is, well, the Peanut Punchers next win will be its first. I took a different approach in that one, aiming to get 3 top notch WRs and a top QB while hoping the rest of my roster would come around. I’ll get Doug Martin back next week to help with one RB spot and Joe Mixon may be the guy to save the other spot, but I’m already in a deep hole. The good news is that I have Lester Wiltfong Jr.’s squad this weekend - he is also looking for his first victory of the season. What happens when a resistible force meets a movable object? Tune in next week to find out...
Trade offers have started to fly around. Now is the time to start making your bets on whether or not players who have been premiere guys in the past will rebound or whether or not you truly believe in the hot start of a Kareem Hunt or even a Dalvin Cook. I managed to acquire LeSean McCoy this past week after posting 2 poor outings in a row in exchange for a good keeper asset I’ve been holding. McCoy has been a star for a long time, but maybe the wheels are falling off. We’ll see if my early season acquisition will help me compete in that league or if I sunk assets into a losing stock. It’s honestly one of my favorite parts of the game. I don’t even mind too much if I “lose” a trade in the end - it’s a lot of fun negotiating and pulling them off. You can learn a lot about life in negotiating a fantasy football trade!
What’s up in your world? What questions are you wrestling with?
