EDIT: A schedule of meetings for the Chicago Bears and prospective head coaches is starting to take shape per various reports. There still hasn’t been official word from the Bears or Pace on a schedule, but that’s to be expected.

Even though Chicago Bears’ general manager Ryan Pace said they didn’t have any assistant coaches lined up to interview for their vacant head coaching position, there have been a few reports contradicting that.

We’ll run down the reports right here and update accordingly.

Peter Schrager of FOX Sports is reporting that the Bears have requested an interview with Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks. With the Panthers playing this Sunday, the Bears can’t interview him until next week.

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Bears have requested to interview New England Patriots’ offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and Minnesota Vikings’ offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur. Both McDaniels and Shurmur have previous head coaching experience and since their current teams are both on a first round playoff bye they could interview this week.

EDIT: The McDaniels and Shurmur meetings both seem to be slated for Friday, January 5th.

Rapoport also said he expects the Bears to inquire about Pete Carmichael, the offensive coordinator of the New Orleans Saints, although this appears to only be an assumption at this point.

Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network tweeted out that the Bears have requested to meet with Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks coach, John DeFilippo. Albert Breer of the MMQB is reporting that the Bears will meet with DeFilippo this Friday or Saturday, with the Arizona Cardinals also set to meet with him as well. Since Philadelphia is on a bye, the Bears can meet with him this week.

EDIT: The Bears are meeting with DeFilippo on Saturday, January 6th.

EDIT: Earlier today on ESPN’s NFL Live, Adam Schefter said that the Bears have an interview scheduled with Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy. K.C. plays on Saturday, so the interview will have to be scheduled for next week.

EDIT (1/3): Ian Rapoport tweeted out that the Bears requested an interview with Vikings defensive coordinator George Edwards.

EDIT (1/3): Vic Fangio is the first coach to get an interview for the Bears head coaching job.

Do any of these candidates get you guys fired up?
