No big surprises on the Chicago Bears’ official injury report for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. Both safety Eddie Jackson, who hurt his ankle last week against the Packers, and outside linebacker Aaron Lynch, who injured his elbow in that same game, missed practice all week so they received the doubtful status.
EDIT: Neither Jackson nor Lynch made the trip to San Francisco with their teammates and the Bears changed their gameday status to out.
Defensive tackle Bilal Nichols, who has been practicing in a limited fashion on Fridays for a while now as a precaution for his knee, is being listed as questionable.
I’m assuming Nichols will play and I don’t see any scenario where the Bears allow Jackson or Lynch to suit up.
With Jackson out, it’ll likely be Deon Bush getting the start next to Adrian Amos. Rookie outside linebacker Kylie Fitts will likely be active in Lynch’s absence.
Akiem Hicks is the only other Bear on the report, but his is good news as he was listed as a full participant after being sick earlier this week. He has no injury designation and will play as usual.
The 49ers’ injury report is even smaller than the Bears’ report.
They did list safety Jaquiski Tartt as out, but then they decided to place him in injured reserve.
Earlier this week they put corner Ahkello Witherspoon on IR.
Technically they have no one listed on the report this week, but they do have a lengthy list of players on IR.
