It was just a matter of time before the Chicago Bears got around to meeting with the top offensive lineman in the 2018 NFL Draft, Quenton Nelson. Josh Norris, who writes for Rotoworld and NBC Sports, is reporting the Bears plan to meet with Notre Dame’s Nelson today.
Nelson, a left guard for the Fighting Irish, has been the consensus top prospect on the o-line for months now. The 6’5”, 329 pounder would be plug and play at left guard for the Bears in between center Cody Whitehair and left tackle Charles Leno Jr.
Most mock drafts have the Bears taking Nelson if he’s still on the board at eight, with Tremaine Edmunds, the Virginia Tech linebacker, being the fall back plan.
The latest draft buzz has the Bears ready to trade back, and if that happens, they’ll likely have no shot at Nelson.
We’re only two weeks out from the actual first round, so is Nelson the guy you want the Bears to take?
