The Chicago Bears have signed wide receiver Marlon Brown, his agency reported.
Brown, who will be 27 on Sunday, had been brought into Halas Hall for a tryout this Tuesday. An undrafted free agent out of Georgia in 2013, he spent the first three seasons of his career with the Baltimore Ravens. He spent 2016 with the Denver Broncos and sat out the 2017 season.
Brown’s best season of his career was his 2013 rookie campaign, when he racked up 49 receptions for 524 yards and seven touchdowns. He failed to top that success in the later years of his career, though, as he has not caught a touchdown since December of 2013.
At 6’5” and 214 pounds, Brown is a big-bodied target who can go up and grab jump balls. He joins a Bears wide receiver corps that is still trying to make up for the loss of Cameron Meredith. Brown will likely serve as a camp body to compete for one of the final spots on the 53-man roster.
