The third match-up in the first round pits Erik’s team, the Optimists, against Lester’s team, the Chicago Grizzlies! Vote for who you think will win!

Jim McMahon Bears

In the latest match-up in the first round of our All-Chicago Bears Historical Fantasy Tournament, we have Erik Christopher Duerrwaechter’s The Optimists taking on Lester A. Wiltfong Jr.’s The Chicago Grizzlies.

Who would win this hypothetical game?

You get to decide!

Erik’s offense is led by quarterback Sid Luckman, and he’ll be handing the ball off to Jordan Howard. Opening holes up front are three members of the 1985 Super Bowl team, Jimbo Covert, Jay Hilgerberg, and Tom Thayer.

Tasked with stopping ECD’s Optimists, Lester has Doug Atkins at one defensive end spot, with George Connor opposite him at outside linebacker, and Fred Williams mans one defensive tackle spot. His secondary is led by corners Allan Ellis and J.C. Caroline.

On defense, Erik has veteran Charles Tillman and youngster Eddie Jackson ball-hawking in his secondary, with Akiem Hicks, Tommie Harris, and Chris Zorich battling up front.

Lester will attack Erik’s D with Gale Sayers at tailback, wide out Harlon Hill running deep, and Jim McMahon captaining his offense at quarterback. Up front they are led by Joe Stydahar and George Musso.
