Ranking the Chicago Bears defense 1-11 going into 2018

The Bears took a big step in 2017 on defense under Vic Fangio ranking in the top 10 in yards allowed per game and points allowed per game and 11th in yards per play. In his first three seasons in Chicago, Fangio's defense never ranked higher than 15th in points allowed per game, yards per game or yards per play. Vic will look to continue his success and then some after resigning with the Bears during the offseason. The Bears return 8/11 starters and could actually see improvement out of the new incumbent starters in 2018.

In this series I'll be ranking the Bears starters 1-11 for the 2018 season based on expectations, talent and past production.

Here's who I see in the starting lineup week one at Green Bay:

LDE Akiem Hicks
NT Eddie Goldman
RDE Jonathan Bullard
ROLB Aaron Lynch
JACK Roquan Smith
MIKE Danny Trevathan
LOLB Leonard Floyd
LCB Kyle Fuller
SS Adrian Amos
FS Eddie Jackson
RCB Prince Amukamara

The first player and #1 ranked on this list will be broke down individually and released on Monday July 23rd. I'll be breaking down 1-11 every day leading up to the first preseason game against the Ravens.
