Training Camp Recommendations from BourbonnaisDoc

When you come down to Bearbonnais there are the typical suburban chains like TGIFridays, Applebees, McDonalds, Wendys Red Lobster and Texas RoadHouse. Also the favorites like Cracker Barrel, Four Guys, Chipotle, Subway, Starbucks, Noodles, Olive Garden...

Here are a few of my personal LOCAL favorites that you might miss out on:

Burgers and Beer - excellent thick "gourmet" burgers, chicken and other sandwiches and a good bottled craft beer list.

Flight 102 - a nice wine bar with some good food in an unexpected Strip mall location next to the Jewel in Bourbonnais]

Sammy's Pizza - considered by many the best thin crust pizza in the area. Consider the TOUGH GUY pizza. Open late and has a nice bar.

Blues Cafe - Classic 50's diner with great breakfast and pies. Not open for dinner or on Sundays.

Jimmy Jo's BBQ - Good smoked meats and sides. Family friendly.

Koi Asian Bistro - sort of Pan-Asian with good sushi, thai and japanese dishes. Good wine and beer prices

Isidro's Tamales - Really good authentic open faced tacos and tamales.

La Cocina Macias - Looks like a dive but the chef makes really good Carnitas, Pastor and Barbacoa and other housemade meats. Friendly family place

Martinez Tacos - Very authentic mexican buffet during the day with food from Guanajuato area

Papis Cafe - good breakfast and pizza place

Grapes and Hops - Local wine and beer bar with a great atmosphere and a few outdoor tables

Brickstone Brewery Restaurant - Local brew pub makes its own beer locally now sold in Chicago bars and restaurants

Bills Cafe - Good local greek diner with some excellent greek specials.
