Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse — a survey of fans across the NFL, powered by SurveyMonkey. Each week, we send 32 polls to 100+ plugged in fans from each team. Bears fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.

These FanPulse surveys are short and sweet, but I think they provide some neat info for us to share each week. This first question, gauging our confidence in the Chicago Bears, will likely fluctuate with wins and losses. The narrow loss on Sunday Night Football to the Green Bay Packers caused a 11% dip in this week’s poll. Check out this week’s results in the graphic below.

How confident are you in the direction of the team?

Last week: 93 percent confidence

I’d expect a similar drop if the Bears lose on Monday night against the Seattle Seahawks in Chicago’s home opener, but if they even their record at 1-1, I predict we’re back up over 90%.

Will the Bears win or lose in Week 2?

Odds: Bears are 3-point favorites

Windy City Gridiron FanPulse: Bears by 6

Field Gulls FanPulse: Seahawks by 2

I’m not surprised that Bears’ fans are taking the Bears, while Seahawks’ fans are picking the Seahawks. The average scoring margin tells me that we’re a lot more confident in our team than they are with theirs however.

For the record, I picked the Bears to win by 10.

This results of the final question this week pleases me.

Other than QB, what is most valuable to an NFL offense?

Left tackle was the overwhelming answer across all the FanPulse team surveys. I’m always good seeing the offensive line getting some love.

I voted for the left tackle too, but a good argument could be made that right tackle is up there too. Defenses no longer exclusively put their best edge rusher on their right side to attack the blindside of QBs. Chicago’s Khalil Mack (I still smile when I type that) and Denver’s Von Miller are two of the best sack-artists in the game today, and both do most of their damage of the defense’s left side.
