It’s being reported by CBS Sports, that the Chicago Bears are adding Ted Monachino to Chuck Pagano’s defensive coaching staff. Monachino worked as Pagano’s defensive coordinator in 2016 and 2017 when Pagano was head coach of the Indianapolis Colts. The two also worked together for the Baltimore Ravens in 2010 and 2011 when Monachino was their linebackers coach. In 2012, he was a part of Baltimore’s Super Bowl winning coaching staff.

It’s not reported what role he’ll have on Pagano’s staff with the Bears, but considering his most recent positional work as been with linebackers, that could be a possibility. He also has coached defensive line in the collegiate and professional level.

Last month he accepted a job at Kansas State as their defensive coordinator and linebackers coach, but the opportunity to get back in the NFL was apparently too good to pass up.

The Bears have several positions on their defensive staff to fill, and once we hear anything we’ll pass it along.
