Earlier today the Chicago Bears announced that they have signed the following players to reserve/future contracts.
- Dejon Allen, OL, Hawaii - 6’3”, 290
- Abdullah Anderson, DL, Bucknell - 6’5”, 295
- John Franklin III, DB, Florida Atlantic - 6’1”, 186
- Tanner Gentry, WR, Wyoming - 6’1”, 201
- Cyril Grayson, WR, LSU - 5’9”, 183
- Michael Joseph, DB, Dubuque - 6’1”, 187
- Jonathon Mincy, DB, Auburn - 5’10”, 196
- Ryan Nall, RB, Oregon State - 6’2”, 232
- James Vaughters, LB, Stanford - 6’2”, 250
- Josh Woods, ILB, Maryland - 6’1”, 204
All except Vaughters spent a little time with the Bears last year, either on the practice squad or on the offseason roster. Vaughters has been with the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL the last two years where he has racked up 11 sacks and in 2018 he was a part of their Grey Cup championship team.
On January 4, they announced another reserve/future signing from the CFL.
- Jameer Thurman, LB, Indiana State - 6’0”, 230
Thurman, a local product, played his high school ball at Proivso West, and was a teammate of Vaughters the last two years with the Stampeders. In 2018 he had 82 tackles on defence, 16 more on special teams, 2 sacks, 1 interception, and 1 forced fumble..
