Chicago Bears inside linebacker Roquan Smith met the media today and he was asked several times about the issue that plagued him the last several days. Smith gave no specifics, but he did say he was excited to get back on the practice field and that he “will play in London.”
He was continually asked for details, but kept going back to, “it’s personal,” however he did indicate there was no legal issue. “I’m past the situation, actually,” he said, I’m just addressing it because I have to.”

Head coach Matt Nagy was asked about Roquan’s situation during his time with the media and he reiterated that it was a personal matter. He also said that Smith would be a full participant at practice and when asked if he would play in London, he gave a, “we’ll see.”
What ever matter Roquan Smith was dealing with, his teammates, the coaches, and the entire organization seemed to have his back.
EDIT: The official injury report came out after the Bears practiced and Smith was listed as a full participant.
Nagy also said that quarterback Mitchell Trubisky would likely miss the game on Sunday against the Raiders, and that he is day to day with his shoulder injury. He also said they were hopeful he’d be ready for the Saints game after their bye week.
Offensive guard Kyle Long told Stacey Dales of the NFL Network that he plans to return from his hip injury this week.
