The London game, Bears @ Raiders

I attended this game, and I am not going through, who did what and who didn't.

I am going to tell you about the stadium it was played in.

Well I was right up "in the god's" as they say here in England UK. I was in Block 516. It was the only ticket I could get hold of, and being a Bears Fan in England, there was an opportunity to watch Chicago play The Raiders cheaper.

I have attended 7 Chicago Bears games, and this was my second timein England, as I attended The Wembley game against The Buccaneers, the last time Bears where here. All the rest have been in The USA.

Okay, about the stadium. I have seen Premier Soccer games as it is called now, in the early seventies. It is not the same now as it was back then. You queued up and paid cash at the turnstiles to watch the games back then. You could get season tickets, but the norm for plebs like me, it was to "pay as you go", as you might not be able to afford going to a game.

I used to go to away games then, and I had been to White Hart Lane as it was called back then. It was a very good stadium and was so easy to get to on public transport, as it is now. This new arena as they call them, is a piece of art and for the followers of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, it is "the Bees Knees". There is definitely Not a bad seat in there, is is incredible. The field the Raiders and Bears played on, is not the pitch Tottenham soccer club and rivals play on. Soccer players, play on natural grass. Yes, the whole field goes out and a plastic turf field comes rolling up and out and replaces it. WOW.

Now there is some facilities that you wouldn't dream of finding in a arena for over 60,000 fans. There is a micro brewery in there, and longest bar and hospitality section. The toilet facilities seem to be well capable of serving a large attended game. Food and beverage vendor facilities are practically everywhere.

The walk around I did of the arena was really good. The security is more than adequate. The local people around the area friendly and informative.

I have been to Soldier Field and attended Bears home games, my first 1996 old Soldier Field and last was Nov 22nd 2015 V Denver Broncos game.

I cannot see why The McCaskeys don't build their own stadium. They would have been a lot richer if they had done it when Soldier Field needed re furbishing, but that's me, thinking out loud.

If for some reason The Chicago Bears was to have a game here in England again, and you fans could afford it, you would be welcomed with open arms. You would have thought it was a home, game due to the attending fans. I wasn't surprised at that. There where a number of Raiders fans, but we practically doubled their number. Sorry for the loss at the first game at Tottenham. Never mind, there is always Vegas to save for, if we are to meet them at Raiders home game.
