The Chicago Bears have already ruled outside linebacker Isaiah Irving as out for this Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles with that quad injury he suffered last week against the Chargers. Earlier this week the Bears added James Vaughters to their practice squad, so if the team feels they need to make a roster move to fortify the OLB position, look for that to happen tomorrow.
The Bears had four players limited at practice today, but head coach Matt Nagy indicated all four were just held back a bit since they practiced inside on the turf at the Walter Payton Center. I would expect defensive tackle Bilal Nichols (knee), safety Eddie Jackson (hamstring), wide out Taylor Gabriel (shin), and tight end Trey Burton (groin) to all play on Sunday since none has received an injury designation as of yet.
The Eagles injury report isn’t as clean as Chicago’s. Here’s how they list it for Sunday.
Nigel Bradham LB (Ankle) - Out
Jason Peters T (Knee) - Out
DeSean Jackson WR (Abdomen) - Questionable
Tim Jernigan DT (Foot) - Questionable
Andrew Sendejo S (Abdomen) - Questionable
Philly getting the explosive Jackson back would be a boost for their offense and he says he plans on playing, and head coach Doug Pederson is “optimistic” that Jackson will play as well.
The Eagles will also have running back Darren Sproles and nickelback Avonte Maddox back this week after missing some time.
