Earlier today the Chicago Bears re-signed outside linebacker James Vaughters to their practice squad. Vaughters has played in the last two games, but he’s also been the Monday morning cut when the Bears brought veteran tight end Bradley Sowell back to the active roster after his weekly releases.
Vaughters has been needed on the last two Sundays with the quad injury to Isaiah Irving, so if Irving is still not ready to go this week against the Los Angeles Rams, I’d expect another roster shuffle to take place.
In case you missed it, yesterday the Bears signed rookie offensive lineman Dino Boyd to their practice squad. Boyd (6’4”, 300) was originally an undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati before being signed by the Kansas City Chiefs this offseason. He also spent some time on the Bengals practice squad earlier this year.
With Vaughters and Boyd added to the practice squad, the Bears are now at the maximum ten players and they are as follows.
Dino Boyd OL
Sam Mustipher OL
Dax Raymond TE
Jesper Horsted TE
Tyler Bray QB
Kerrith Whyte Jr. RB
Thomas Ives WR
Michael Joseph CB
Stephen Denmark DB
James Vaughters OLB
Who will be the next practice squadder brought up to the 53-man roster?
