Five Chicago Bears held out of practice today

Here’s the latest on the injured Bears...

The injures are starting to pile up for the Chicago Bears as two more players were added to the “did not practice” list today.

Yesterday running back David Montgomery rolled his ankle and was limited, but today the Bears held the rookie out of practice entirely. If Montgomery can’t go then Ryan Nall could make his offensive debut this week.

Inside linebacker Danny Trevathan, who suffered that awful elbow injury on Sunday, was an obvious DNP, and the Bears still haven’t decided on injured reserve for him.

Tight end Trey Burton hurt his calf in the Lions game and he hasn’t practiced all week, nor has outside linebacker Isaiah Irving who has been nursing a quad injury for a few weeks now.

Also new to the injury report was tight end Adam Shaheen who hurt his foot and did not practice. He was a healthy scratch for last week’s game, but with Burton ailing he could have found himself back on the active game day roster for Sunday night in L.A. against the Rams.

If both Burton and Shaheen can’t go then we could see usual cut candidate Bradley Sowell play for the first time since week two.
