It’s a not-so-thankful Thanksgiving episode of the Bears Banter Podcast. Bill Zimmerman is joined by national radio host Patrick Meagher for a good conversation. You can hear Patrick on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio as well as VSIN. Patrick is a hardcore Detroit Lions fan but has plenty to say about both Mitchell Trubisky and Matt Nagy as well as his woeful Detroit Lions.
Meagher is down on Trubisky (who isn’t these days?) but what’s more interesting is what he sees in Matt Nagy, not necessarily about the lack of a run game and the play calls, but something else entirely different about the head coach.
Meagher states, “I think you learn about somebody when things are going poorly, and Nagy in year one, 12 wins, he kind of popped, he was doing interviews, a good personality, you kind of got a good vibe about him. Since things have gone poorly, I think his character has been revealed as a little unscrupulous. I don’t know if he’s comported himself the way you want as a Bears fan during a tough season.”
It’s a great conversation, Meagher gives his suggestion for a quarterback in 2020, the issues with both Matt Patricia and Bob Quinn, and the guys debate Walter Payton vs Barry Sanders. Check out the conversation below!
