With a short week it was going to difficult for the the injured Chicago Bears to be ready for their Thanksgiving match-up against the Detroit Lions, and today’s injury report confirmed that.
The Bears have ruled the following players out; tight ends Ben Braunecker (concussion) and Adam Shaheen (foot), wide receiver Taylor Gabriel (concussion), offensive tackle Bobby Massie (ankle), inside linebacker Danny Trevathan (elbow), and defensive back Sherrick McManis (groin). Even with several starters ruled out the Bears are still favored according to Sportsbet.
With two tight ends ailing we should see a bigger role for UDFA Jesper Horsted, and with Gabriel out we should see rookie Riley Ridley active. Cornelius Lucas will get the start for Massie and he’s been decent in relief this season.
Here is the official Lions injury list for tomorrow’s game.
