Playoff scenarios
The Chicago Bears’ playoff aspirations didn’t receive any help last weekend, but they’re still alive for a postseason birth. However, a loss to the 10-3 Green Bay Packers this Sunday would severely cripple their already slim chances. They are technically still alive for the NFC North title, but a wildcard spot is more likely.
Chicago needs to win out and hope for help.
The 7-6 Bears are still behind the 8-5 Los Angeles Rams, and both teams are currently outside the wildcard seedings, but the Rams hold the head to head tiebreaker against Chicago. The Rams travel to play the Dallas Cowboys next, then visit the San Francisco 49ers, before hosting the Arizona Cardinals.
The Minnesota Vikings are in control of their own playoff destiny in the 6th seed at 9-4, and they have go to the Los Angeles Chargers, before hosting the Packers and then the Bears in the season finale.
In a plethora of ‘what if’ scenarios in the NFC, the most important one for the Bears is a win against the rival Packers this Sunday.
