While the Minnesota Vikings have absolutely nothing to play for and will reportedly rest several starters, the Chicago Bears will be fighting to end the season on a positive and not have a losing record for the sixth time since 2014. Climbing to 8-8 won’t mean much in the grand scheme of things, but for the players that struggled through a disappointing season, it’s at least something to build on as they look towards 2020.
On the injury front, the Bears list the following players on their report for Sunday’s game.
WR - Taylor Gabriel (concussion) - OUT
NT - Eddie Goldman (concussion) - OUT
DL - Akiem Hicks (elbow) - OUT
RT - Bobby Massie (ankle) - DOUBTFUL
RG - Rashaad Coward (knee) - Downgraded to OUT
CB - Prince Amukamara (hamstring) - QUESTIONABLE
Head coach Matt Nagy said that he will play his starters and go for the win on Sunday, but he also said there will be a few injury exceptions where guys sit out and that there could also be a few players he’d like to get some reps for.
Ted Larsen was Coward’s fill in last week, but I’d imagine we get to see Alex Bars at some point, and Kevin Toliver II is sure to get some reps at corner whether Amukamara plays or not.
The Minnesota Vikings have the following players on their injury report.
RB - Dalvin Cook (shoulder) - OUT
LB - Eric Kendricks (quad) - OUT
RB - Alexander Mattison (ankle) - QUESTIONABLE
CB - Mackensie Alexander - QUESTIONABLE
S - Jayron Kearse (foot) - QUESTIONABLE
Also it looks like Sean Mannion will be getting the start at quarterback.
The Vikings are planning to treat Sunday’s game as a mini bye. Plan is for Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook, Eric Kendricks and other starters not to play, according to a source. The Vikings are the No. 6 seed in NFC playoffs regardless of outcome.@CourtneyRCronin had the news first.
