Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has been voted the FedEx Air Player of the Week for Week 13, the NFL announced on Thursday.
Trubisky put together his best statistical performance of the season last week, going 29-for-38 and throwing for 338 yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception and leading the Bears to a 24-20 win over the Lions. The game marked his season-high total for passing yards in a single game, as well as the third-best total of his career thus far.
This marks the second time that Trubisky has won the award, as he won it in Week 4 of last season for throwing for 354 yards and 6 touchdowns in a 48-10 win over the Buccaneers.
Though Trubisky has put together a disappointing 2019 campaign, his performance against the Lions showed a lot of promise and resulted in several impressive throws. With the Bears approaching a difficult four-game stretch to close out the year, high-quality quarterback play like the outing Trubisky had last week would do them wonders.
Other winners of the award this season include Lamar Jackson, Russell Wilson, Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes.
