Cannonball or Cork Screw... Which Splash would you prefer?

Climbing up the ladder to the intimating diving board left 8 year old me with much time to think over the important questions of my world. As I would take each step, I would carefully calculate if I should go strait cannonball, which would create a bigger more visable all around splash or if I should go corks screw, holding only 1 leg up as to give my splash direction and impact enough to hit a certain target.

Cannonball or corkscrew? Le’Veon Bell or Earl Thomas.

The bears have been busy already in free agency. Gone is Adrian Amos and (presumably) Bryce Callahan. In, a middling running back and a poor man’s Bryce Callahan with hopefully less injuries.

However, the real action has centered around restructuring contracts. Kyle Long, Eddie Goldman, and The man the myth the Mack Daddy have all restructured to free up money. So what gives? Why restructure.

My belief? We are going after a big fish. The two biggest, though probably a pipe dream, are Bell and Thomas.

Bell would be the splashier all around signing. The do everythign back ha powered his way through seasons with the Steelers with finess, hands, and dynamic vision. Hey may not have that top gear, but he is still one heck of a back. His impact would be hard to predict, though we know it would make the whole offense better.

Thomas would be a sharp, directed signing. The ball hawk secondary would be legions (see what I did there) better. Thomas is not the hard hitter Amos is, but is better at just about everything else. He also loses leadership and experience that the secondary needs. Could you imagine that back unit, with a Dline anchored by Hicks and Goldman, and a linebacking crew of Smith, Mack Daddy, Trevathan, and Floyd? Which would be the best defensive unit on the team? We would know that I’m apart and its effects.

So put the logic of, "we won’t do that" out of your head and dream a little. If you were Pace and were dead set on a big signing, which would you sign?
