Is kicker the Chicago Bears’ top draft need?

The NFL draft is just days away, so SB Nation sent out a question asking their FanPulse members to pick the top need for each team. Chicago Bears’ fans, with memories of the double-doink not yet faded away, went with kicker...

I’m on record of being against drafting a kicker, unless the kicker is a can’t miss prospect with a booming leg, but in the undrafted free agent market, I certainly hope the Bears can add a guy once the draft is over.

Right now the Bears have untested Redford Jones, Elliott Fry, and Chris Blewitt at kicker, but I think a four man competition could be in the works for this offseason.

The consensus top three kicking prospects available this year are Utah’s Matt Gay, LSU’s Cole Tracy, and Austin Seibert from Oklahoma. The Bears have met with all three of those guys as well as Marc Orozco from Grambling State and Parker Shaunfield from Southern Miss, so they’ve been doing their homework.

You can check out all the players the Bears are reported to have met with my perusing Aaron Leming’s prospect visit tracker right here.

Here’s how our FanPulse voters voted this week.

I’m guessing that 20% other was made up of a lot of fans wanting a running back.

What do you guys think is the Bears top draft need?
