Thirty-two picks are off the board without any Chicago action, other than firing up YouTube to watch some Khalil Mack highlights.
There’s no one in the Bears’ camp regretting the trade today or last night. I think every one of us prefer having Mack for five more seasons than whatever player they would’ve gotten at No. 24 last night.
Tonight though, the Bears will make their first selection. As of this writing, it’s still set to be No. 87 in the third round, so there will be more waiting tonight.
Plenty of time to consider which position the Bears will select with their pick.
Never count out a trade with Ryan Pace, as we’ve seen the last few years. The Bears should have plenty of players to choose from and have some needs that should be addressed, but not so much that they need to reach for one single position.
Of course most talk has surrounded running back, but cornerback, edge rusher, safety and tight end are all logical spots. There’s also depth on the OL and the much talked about kicker to fill in too.
So which spot do you want to see Ryan Pace and Co. address first? Get running back out of the way? Grab a young corner?
If there is a specific player you’re hoping lasts until Chicago’s pick, drop that in the comments too.
