Making The Case: Running Backs The Bears Should Draft (Ryquell Armstead) - Club Dub Bears Blog - Ryquell Armstead has incredible speed for guy his size. Standing at 5′-11″ and weighing 215 lbs, he ran a blistering 4.45 40-yard dash at the Combine last month. His 40-yard dash time was second to Oklahoma State’s Justice Hill (4.40). The Temple Owls’ offense featured 9 guys who carried the ball at least 10 times in 2018, so it’s amazing that Armstead still was able to get 210 touches for 1,100 yards (5.2 ypc) and 13 TD’s. He also caught 8 passes out of the backfield for 52 yards.

Scouts have compared him to Mike Gillislee. During his three years at Boise State, he collected over 2,800 rushing yards on 581 carries for 33 TD’s. Mattison is arguably the best pass catching running back in this draft. In his sophomore and junior years, he caught 28 balls for 284 yards and 27 balls for 173 yards, respectively.

Making The Case: Running Backs The Bears Should Draft (Bruce Anderson) - Club Dub Bears Blog - Bruce Anderson is one more of the more underrated running backs in this draft. He didn’t get as much national media coverage because he played at an FCS school. That being said, the dude is a beast. He regularly split carries with fellow all-conference teammate, Lance Dunn. In 2017, Dunn was lost for the season to injury after the 8th game and Anderson got the carry the load.
