I saw a question posed like the one above on social media and after responding to that one, I tweaked it and Tweeted out my own version. But since we’re 99.9% Chicago Bears and the NFL around these parts, I only want to know the greatest football that player you ever watched play live in person.
I’ve only been to a handful of games in my lifetime, so for me this one comes down to Brian Urlacher or Aaron Rodgers. Urlacher was a first ballot Hall of Famer, and Rodgers likely will be, but as a Bears’ fan, I have to give ‘Lach the edge for this question.
Besides Soldier Field, my NFL travels have only taken me to one other stadium, and that’s Lambeau Field. That was Mike Glennon’s last game as a Bear in 2017, so Rodgers was the only Hall of Fame type of player that played in that game.
Other Bear greats I had the chance to see live are Olin Kreutz, Devin Hester and Charles Tillman. And the only noteworthy opponent I witnessed play at Soldier Field was the Vikings’ Adrian Peterson.
Who is the greatest NFL player you ever watched live in person?
