The Chicago Bears have signed offensive guard Jordan McCray, who last played in the NFL for the Carolina Panthers in the summer of 2015. He was originally an undrafted free agent of the Green Bay Packers in 2014 after playing at Central Florida, and he spent a little time on their practice squad that year. He eventually found his way on to the practice squad of the Minnesota Vikings as a rookie, but he never made an active roster for either team.
McCray was part of the Bears rookie minicamp last month and he also had a try out earlier this week at Halas Hall. He also played for the Orlando Apollos of the now-defunct Alliance of American Football earlier this year.
The 6’3”, 320 pound 27-year old takes the roster spot that opened when the Bears cut kicker Chris Blewitt.
McCray is one of fifteen offensive lineman signed to the 90-man offseason roster.
