Who is your favorite current Chicago Bears player?

I know, I know, this is like asking a parent to pick a favorite child, but I’m curious to know which current Chicago Bears player is your favorite?

For me, I’m going with offensive lineman Kyle Long.

I’ve been a fan of Long’s since his rookie year. Admittedly, I wasn’t overjoyed when the Bears took him at 20, but I soon realized the kind of work ethic he was bringing to the team. I appreciated his unconventional story of how he ended up a first round prospect after only playing a handful of games at the University of Oregon, and once the Bears got him into the offseason program his physicality stood out.

He won the starting right guard spot as a rookie in 2013 and made the first of three consecutive pro bowls. For me, his play that 2013 season was extremely fun to watch, because he’d get by on brute force and tenacity.

But when this moment happened in week one that year...

... that solidified how I felt about Long. Any offensive lineman that has his quarterbacks back is okay in my book.

In a few weeks I’ll be revealing my Top 100 Favorite Bears (that I’ve seen play) of All-Time, and I have Long in my top 10. In fact, I have ten current Bears on my Top 100.
