Chicago Bears 2019 Training Camp: Live updates and open thread

We have several of our writers in Bourbonnais today for the first open practice, so we’re including their Twitter embeds so you can follow their live updates.

After the Chicago Bears officially opened training camp yesterday, in a closed practice session, they’re back out at Olivet Nazarene University today with their first practice that is open to the public.

This will be your open thread to discuss any and all things Bears related and since we’re going to have a whole slew of our writers in Bourbonnais this weekend, you can follow their live Tweets below.

But first a quickie recap of yesterday’s practice.

As usual, the first day of camp opened with a conditioning test, but this is the first time I can remember where every single Bears’ player that participated aced the test. In fact, head coach Matt Nagy cut the test short because everyone was doing so well.

In total, the team practiced for a crisp 90 minutes with the only injury being a right hamstring issue to rookie wide out Riley Ridley. “Unfortunately, you knock on wood a little bit, but as you go through these camps, you have those,” Nagy said. “Luckily, we have an unbelievable training staff and (Andre Tucker) and them will do a great job of getting him back.”

Nagy didn’t give a timetable for PUP listed Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, but he did say he thinks he’s close to returning.

Long snapper Patrick Scales missed Friday’s practice for personal reasons, but the three Bears that had offseason surgery, Trey Burton, Anthony Miller, and Emanuel Hall, were all participating.

We realize all these Twitter embeds are kind of clunky to navigate, so we recommend as an alternative to just get on Twitter and follow the entire WCG team, so that way you never miss a thing.
