The NFL’s 2019 offseason is finally over, but the next big step on their important dates calendar is cut down day. Technically teams have until Saturday at 3:00 PM Central time to reduce their 90-man rosters down to 53 players, but we’ve already seen several reports pop up with players getting cut around the league.
The Chicago Bears play in less than a week in the NFL opener against the Green Bay Packers, so it’s likely we’ll see a few Bears released any time now.
We’ll keep track of the players as we receive news on their release in this handy cut down tracker.

For those wondering: The Bears sent out their 53-man roster at 5:47 p.m. in 2017 and 7:58 p.m. in 2018. Obviously, there were some extenuating circumstances in 2018. But don't hold your breath to find out what the roster is immediately.

Also keep in mind that teams can’t formulate their 10-man practice squads until Sunday around noon Chicago time. Once the players are all released they’ll go through waivers, and if they are claimed they’ll need to be added to that team’s 53-man roster. Once a player clears waivers he’s free to sign with any team, including those that are practice squad eligible. While most practice squad players head back to their original team, there will be some players looking for better opportunities.
- We’ll share the Bears 53-man roster once it’s set and update accordingly.
- Any big name signings or trades will receive the proper write up here at WCG.
- We’ll also have a practice squad article posted as soon as possible on Sunday.
- If you guys see any players that are cut around the NFL that you think the Bears could go after, share it in the comment section.
