After a quick Week 1 detour to bourbon to wash away the Packers loss Bears Over Beers returns to their roots with some fresh victory beers to celebrate the come-from-behind win in Denver. Jeff and EJ break down what worked, what didn’t and what needs to change moving forward.
Suffice it to say that the combination of coach Matt Nagy’s playcalling and Mitch Trubisky’s execution of those called plays figures prominently into the discussion.
Looking ahead they preview Chicago’s upcoming Monday-night clash with Washington. Washington is coming off two losses to division foes, is banged up in the backfield, and is currently rolling out gunslinger Case Keenum at QB. It’s not all gloom and doom for them as they do have some stars on defense and an emerging rookie playmaker in rookie WR Terry McLaurin.
Jeff and EJ cap off the episode by isolating some keys to the Bears success and making predictions about Chicago’s outcome in Washington.
Beers notes:
Jeff: Flying Dog Lucky S.O.B. Irish Red Ale
EJ: Western Standard Saloon Lager
