Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse — a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the offseason, we send 32 polls to plugged in fans from each team. Bears fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.

As the Chicago Bears stumbled down the stretch to keep their slim playoff hopes afloat, the FanPulse confidence kept falling. Losses in week 15 and 16 saw our fan’s confidence in the franchise drop, but a week 17 win to gave us a bit of an uptick. Confidence in the direction of the Bears’ franchise usually goes up after wins, so that was expected, but I assumed that with the season over we’d take a big picture look at the 8-8 disappointment and be back trending down.

I was wrong.

Bears fans voting in SB Nation’s latest FanPulse took a look at the franchise and 7% of us changed our confidence level form last week. We’re now up to 28%, and if we keep gaining confidence in the coming weeks we could be back near the 100% we had post-draft last spring!

Okay, maybe it wont get that high, but a few solid free agents and a promising draft class should get us back north of 50%.
