Cordarrelle Patterson named to the PFWA All-NFL Team

Another postseason accolade for the Bears’ electric kick returner. Should Cordarrelle Patterson play more on offense in 2020?

Add another 2019 accolade for the Chicago BearsCordarrelle Patterson as he was just named to the All-NFL Team from the Professional Football Writers of America. He also made their All-NFC Team, but that goes without saying as he made their top honor at kick returner.

Patterson, who signed a two-year, $10 million contract with the Bears last offseason, has also been named First Team All-Pro as a kick returner and Second Team All-Pro as a special teamer by the NFL, he was named Sporting News’ First Team NFL All-Pro as a kick returner, which is an award voted on by the league’s head coaches, and he was voted to the third Pro Bowl of his career.

The versatile Patterson played on 48.5% of Chicago’s special teams snaps, but also 18.6% of their snaps on offense at both wide receiver and running back. He had 28 kickoff returns for 825 yards and 1 touchdown, 17 rushing attempts for 103 yards, and 11 receptions for 83 yards.
