Broncos vs Jets: Battle of Ex-Bears’ Coordinators!

It’s our Thursday Night Football Open Thread!

It’s a battle of former Chicago Bears’ coordinators tonight on Thursday Night Football as head coach Adam Gase and his New York Jets hosts the Denver Broncos and head coach Vic Fangio.

Gase and Fangio worked together in Chicago as a part of John Fox’s staff initial coaching back in 2015, with Gase coordinating the offense and Fangio running the defense.

Gase’s work with Jay Cutler that year led to him getting a head coaching gig in Miami in 2016, while Fangio stuck around through Fox’s three years in Chicago and for year one of the Matt Nagy era before leaving to coach the Broncos in 2019.

Neither team has a win in 2020, so who’ll get that first W of the season tonight?

Gase has been rumored to be on the hot seat as his Jets’ team seems to have regressed this year, and some Denver fans are starting to turn on Fangio as his team hasn’t progressed either.

To be fair, these teams have had several injuries they’ve been dealing with, but dropping to 0-4 could spark a panic mode for either franchise.

While SB Nation continues to work through the suggestions about their new commenting system, understand that over 20 things have already been tweaked, with more changes to come.

Here are a few things to keep in mind tonight in regards to the comment thread:

  1. If you change the ‘Sort By’ option to “Oldest,” you can read all the comments in chronological order, and the comment box moves to the bottom. If you leave it as “Newest”, the latest comments will appear at the top.
  2. If you’re using a computer, you can move down the comments using C, and move back up using shift-C by clicking once inside the comments area. This can also be used to ‘load more’ comments.
  3. Under the ‘My Profile’ tab, you can keep track of replies to your comments, and also sign up for email notifications of replies
  4. If you want to auto-show all images/GIFs/Tweets, you can opt into this under My Profile - Preferences
  5. The WCG team are Bears fans and content creators, not website developers, so if you have a question or a suggestion then you can contact the team that works on this system here: support@coralproject.net.

Enjoy the game!
