Windy City Gridiron picks NFL Week 11

The Bears might not be playing this weekend, but there’s still an action-packed slate to be excited about.

The Bears are on a well-deserved bye week. (Well, after a four-game skid, I suppose the definition of deserved will vary depending on who you ask. Ask your doctors.)

Thankfully, for most of the rest of the NFL, it does not stop spinning because the charter franchise goes into temporary hibernation. A little less than six weeks left in the 2020 season means the playoff push will be intensified and the magnifying glass of attention will indeed melt some pretenders away. (Cough, basically the entire NFC against any AFC heavyweight, cough.) This Sunday in particular poses an interesting prospect as the league rams head-first into the stretch run.

Both the Lions (vs. Carolina) and Vikings (vs. Dallas) can climb back to .500 and stick right into the thick of the NFC postseason picture. (What that means for the Bears, you tell me.) In Nashville, a year after a humiliating postseason beatdown, Lamar Jackson and the Ravens look for a semblance of revenge against the Titans. Who knows? They might save their dignity this time around. And on Sunday night, the reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs try to keep pace with the surging Steelers by avenging their lone loss of the calendar year at the hands of the Raiders. I wouldn’t stand in Patrick Mahomes’ way in such a scenario, but braver souls have tried.
