With the Washington Football Team signing Lamar Miller off the Chicago Bears practice squad, the Bears appear to be in the market for a back to take his place.
There were four players listed on the NFL’s tryout list today for Chicago, and all four are running backs.
- Spencer Ware - The 29-year old most recently played with the Chiefs last year, but he went on injured reserve with a shoulder injury before K.C. went on their run to the Super Bowl.
- Rod Smith - The 6’3”, 234 pounder has bounced around on six teams since being a UDFA in 2015, most recently being a practice squad stint with the Giants.
- Darius Jackson - The former 6th-round draft pick in 2016 has had eight different stops on his NFL journey, and he has spent most of the 2020 season on the Colts practice squad.
- Wes Hillls - The 25-year old was a UDFA of the Cardinals in 2019, but they waived him with an injury before that season started. He was most recently with the Lions.
The Bears still have three practice squadders on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, so here’s who they have on their 16-man practice squad right now.
