On Monday the Chicago Bears placed practice squad players LaCale London and Manti Te’o on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. ESPN’s Jeff Dickerson is reporting that it’s believed that both players tested positive. The Bears are currently working with the league on contact tracing to identify potential close contacts.
This new reserve list is also used as a precaution for players that have been in close contact with someone that has tested positive, so depending on the contact tracing there could be more players added to the list. If any more players are added we’ll update accordingly.
Defensive tackle LaCale is an rookie undrafted free agent from Western Illinois, and Te’o is a seven year veteran inside linebacker that was originally a second round draft pick of the San Diego Chargers in 2013.
While on the Reserve/COVID-19 list neither player will count towards the Bears 16-man practice squad.
The Bears next play on Sunday, December 13 against the Houston Texans.
