Mocking the Mocks: Dueling Bears 7-round mock drafts!

Who mocked it better for the Chicago Bears; Adam Hoge or Bryan Perez?

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: SEP 22 Stanford at Oregon

Just one day after we shared the Matt Miller seven round mock draft, we’re back at it with two more full mocks for the Chicago Bears, but this time we want you guys to vote on which you’d like best.

In one corner we have WGN’s Adam Hoge, who not only mocked the whole thing from a Bears perspective, but he broke down the picks the Bears traded away and acquired in 2020.

And in the other corner we have Bryan Perez from NBC Sports Chicago, who gives us his full Bears mock in a neat slideshow format.

Here’s how Hoge had the Bears drafting:

  • 2nd Round, No. 11 (No. 43 overall via Raiders) — TE Harrison Bryant, Florida Atlantic (6-4 3/4, 242)
  • 2nd Round, No. 18 (No. 50 overall) — EDGE Bradlee Anae, Utah
  • 4th Round, No. 41 (projected comp pick) — OG Damien Lewis, LSU
  • 5th Round, No. 17 — CB Dane Jackson, Pittsburgh
  • 6th Round, No. 17 — RB Antonio Gibson, Memphis
  • 6th Round, No. 21 (via Eagles) — WR Binjimen Victor, Ohio State
  • 7th Round, No. 12 (via Raiders) — QB Stephen Montez, Colorado
  • 7th Round, No. 19 — OL Calvin Throckmorton, Oregon

And here’s the Perez version:

  • Round 2, No. 43 (from Raiders): Jacob Eason, QB, Washington
  • Round 2, No. 50: Brycen Hopkins, TE, Purdue
  • Round 5, No. 142 (from Raiders): Jack Driscoll, OT, Auburn
  • Round 5, No. 146: Reggie Floyd, S, Virginia Tech
  • Round 6, No. 177: Jaron Bryant, CB, Fresno State
  • Round 6, No. 181 (from Eagles): Kendall Coleman, Edge, Syracuse
  • Round 7, No. 211: Calvin Throckmorton, OT, Oregon

Be sure you check out each mock so you understand the full reasoning behind their picks.

You may notice that Hoge has the projected comp pick in his haul and that Perez has the other Raiders pick from the Khalil Mack trade happening in the 5th-round and not the 7th like Hoge does. The NFL will announce the official draft order soon, so until it’s revealed we’re all just guessing on the specifics.

Each mock went with tight end early, and each showed a different quarterback philosophy, but I thought each did a solid job in addressing some of the Bears needs with pass rusher, cornerback, and offensive linemen being addressed.
