The big Chicago Bears news for day two has been signing pass rusher Robert Quinn and rescinding the 5th year option on Leonard Floyd thus making him a free agent. (LINK!)
Yesterday’s free agency splash was locking up 33-year old tight end Jimmy Graham (details here) and they also lost Nick Kwiatkoski to the Las Vegas Raiders.
We’ll track all the Bears-centric free agency news and rumors in the tracker right here and also keep tabs on all the Bears roster moves down below.
Head over to our March 18, Free Agency Tracker right here for all the latest!
6:00 PM: Ian Rapoport is reporting the Buccaneers are the winners of the Tom Brady sweepstakes. With Brady off the market, that leaves Jameis Winston, Derek Carr, Andy Dalton, Nick Foles, and Cam Newton (and I’m sure a surprise or two along the way) for the Bears to look into.
3:10 PM: The Jets have locked up guard Alex Lewis, who was rumored to be a Bears target, on a 3-year, $18.6M deal. (link)
3:00 PM: The Colts have locked up Philip Rivers on a one year deal.
2:10 PM: The Redskins are going to sign Bears’ ILB Kevin Pierre-Louis to a 1-year deal that could be worth up to $3.45M with playtime incentives per Ian Rapoport.
11:55 AM: Teddy Bridgewater is signing with the Panthers and the Bears QB options shrink again. (link)
11:30 AM: The Bears have signed EDGE rusher Robert Quinn and have rescinded the 5th year option of Leonard Floyd. (LINK!)
10:30 AM - Dan Sileo tweeted out that Cam Newton was granted permission to seek a trade from the Panthers, and after calling the Pats he called the Bears, but Newton said the trade initiation from the team.
10:30 AM - The Lions have signed ex-Bears QB Chase Daniel to a 3-year, $13.05M deal per Adam Schefter.
8:15 AM - Tom Brady announced that he will not be returning to New England. Andy Dalton has been linked to the Pats as a possible Brady replacement. Also, where Brady ends up could affect the Bears QB search. If he heads to Tampa Bay, then Bridgewater becomes more viable for Chicago. If he does go to Las Vegas, then Carr is back on the table, but we could be waiting a while as Brady has no intention on making a decision today. The other team hot on his services are the Chargers.
8:15 AM - Back up QB Nate Sudfeld, who some linked to the Bears, is returning to the Eagles. (link)
March 16: In case you missed it, the Lions signed defensive lineman Nick Williams who was coming off a career year with the Bears. (link)
The Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs tweeted that the Bears could be interested in Raider safety Karl Joseph.
