With the 50th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select Utah cornerback Jaylon Johnson.

Johnson is a 6’0”, 193 pound “boundary bully” as described by NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein. He should be in the mix to start as a rookie with his experience playing press man with the Utes, but it’s his physicality that will endear him to Bears fans.

He played through a bad shoulder since 2018, and most of 2019 with a torn right labrum, but he managed to play 27 games while fighting through the pain. He had surgery to repair his torn right labrum on March 4, so he should be close to ready to go around August.

He played as a true freshman making 2 starts in 12 games, and in his three years for Utah he had 7 interceptions, with 2 returned for touchdowns, and 21 passes defended. In the classroom he was a business major and he received his degree in December.
