After much waiting the Chicago Bears finally made their selection in the NFL Draft. They took TE Cole Kmet, from Notre Dame with the 43rd pick.
Kmet is a local kid, from Lake Barrington, Ill.

Listen, I like Cole Kmet. He was my TE1. I thought he would have been an ok pick at 50. Taking him now with the talent that was on the board is inexcusable

The #Bears used 12 personnel on only 13% of their plays in 2019. The Chiefs and Eagles were top 5 in the league in using 12 personnel. Kmet + Jimmy Graham could mean an offense that looks more like KC and Philly.

I'm sure Cole Kmet is a fine player and person. I hope he succeeds.
As a draft value this is not. the. best.
I've made the point many times how important TE is to this #Bears offense on Bears Over Beers. I simply hate this move with more talented players at open competition positions. Pace is chasing ghosts this off season.

I have zero problem with the Kmet pick at 43. Kid has a very high floor. Bears need two starters out of this round, and if not this year, Kmet should be one of those starters. What they cannot... CANNOT... afford is misses. Pace must do a conservative draft at the top end.
