As the NFL Draft winds down, we’re sure to start seeing several prospects and their agents take to social media to talk about their exciting opportunities with various teams. Undrafted free agency is a Wild West-like atmosphere as things can change in an instant, and you shouldn’t believe anything until it’s officially announced by the teams.
Players and their representation will sometimes posture to make themselves look more in demand than they really are, so take all the rumors for just that, rumors.
Also, some of the players may only be signing deals to participate in rookie mini-camp (whenever that may be).
We’ll try our best to keep up with all the legitimate news and rumors in regards to the Chicago Bears in this tracker, but we need you guys to help us out too. If you see something on Twitter or Instagram that we haven’t linked in the tracker, be sure you share the link in the comment section.
OUR RUMOR/NEWS TRACKER IS LIVE
- The Bears announce 11 UDFAs signed, and a full video breakdown on the newest Bears is right here.
Napoleon Maxwell, RB, FIU (link) In 4 seasons as a Panther the 6’, 215 pounder ran for 2,090 yards (5.3ypc), with 22 touchdowns, 30 receptions for 233 yards. He played as a true freshman in 2014, but missed the 2015 and 2016 seasons with an injury.
Considering Ryan Pace has confirmed the Mack signing, “It’ll be unique having two brothers on the same team,” and Brad Biggs has contract info for McSwain and London, I would assume those three will be a part of Chicago’s 2020 UDFA class.
- Ledarius Mack, DE, Buffalo (link) Yes, this is Khalil Mack’s little brother. The 6’1”, 240 pounder had 7 sacks in 2019 as a reserve defensive end.
- Trevon McSwain, DL, Duke (link) - 6’6”, 285 lbs
- Lacale London, WIU, DL (link)
Still no UDFA quarterback linked to the Bears.
Rashad Smith, ILB, Florida Atlantic (link)
Ahmad Wagner, WR, University of Kentucky (Scouting report) The 6’5”, 234 pounder may be signing to play tight end.
Artavis Pierce, RB, Oregon State (link) - At his pro day he ran a 4.47 forty at 5’10”, 209 lbs
Badara Traore, OT, LSU (link)
Dieter Eiselen, OT, Yale (link)
Our guy Aaron Leming will also be tracking the undrafted free agents on a Google Spreadsheet here as a way for us to double check each other’s work.
