With the 163rd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears have selected Kindle Vildor, cornerback from Georgia Southern.

Vildor checked in at 5’10”, 191 pounds, with 32¼” arms at the NFL Combine, but his 22 reps on the bench was one of the best marks among all corners.

He started his final 5 games as a sophomore in 2017, and started all 25 games he appeared in his final two years as an Eagle making 9 interceptions and 25 passes defended.

Here’s how Lance Zierlein of NFL.com assesses his ability.

He’s a little slender and his speed is average, but Vildor possesses good athletic ability with the man cover talent to stay near his target. He does a nice job of challenging throws effectively when he’s in position thanks to his length and timing, but he’ll need to improve his route recognition and anticipation as a pro. He can be too passive and ineffective as a tackler, which will be a non-starter for certain NFL teams. Vildor has the ability to challenge for a CB4/CB5 spot for man-cover defenses.

Robert Schmitz was joined by our Lead Draft Analyst Jacob Infante, and our Senior Draft Analyst EJ Snyder, to help breakdown Vildor’s skills for the Bears in our latest NFL Draft mini-podcast.
