The Chicago Bears are bringing back defensive tackle John Jenkins, who played with the team during the 2017 season.
Originally a 3rd-round pick of the New Orleans Saints in the 2013 NFL Draft, Jenkins was released in the middle of the 2016 season. The Seahawks picked him up that year and he played in a couple games.
The Bears added him before the 2017 season and he appeared in eight games with one start at nose tackle. The Bears re-signed him the following year, but he was cut before the season started. He landed with the Giants a few days later and he started one of the seven games he played in.
He was released by New York before the 2019 season, but was quickly scooped up by the Dolphins and he played in all 16 games, making five starts. He had 34 tackles and a sack last year in Miami.
During his career, the 30-year old Jenkins has appeared in 82 games with 29 starts, and the 6’3”, 327 pounder has always been known as a decent run defender.
