As we close out Jersey Week on WCG, let’s take a look around the league and talk about the best and worst uniform sets, non-Bears division. The Bears uniforms are great, they’re classic, and when they redesign uniforms, it only requires minor tweaks to update and refresh. You won’t find any two tone helmets or gradient jerseys in Chicago.

Other teams in the league redesign their duds regularly, trying to find that look the Bears already enjoy. Some have succeeded and some have failed miserably. I’m going to award my top three favorites and then list the worst three uniforms in the league. It’s just my opinion, of course, but let’s have some fun at the expense of team’s not blessed with Navy and Orange. I’m also refraining from listing the other NFC North teams - while green and yellow makes me want to vomit, the uniforms aren’t to blame. Let us know your choices in the comments.

FAVORITES

Third Place: New Orleans Saints

This might be an unpopular opinion, but the Saints uniforms are sharp. Their away white uniforms work well and when they unveiled the white uniforms with gold numbers, they looked extra sharp. As a lot of teams are adding a black uniform to their sets, the Saints have been doing it for a long time and doing it well. Their rivals in the NFC South seem to all be trying to copy them but for my money, the Saints look the best.

Second Place: Las Vegas Raiders

If there’s one thing that Al Davis got right, it’s that Silver and Black worked together. The white jerseys with silver numbers? Sure. Black base with silver numbers? Yep. I have yet to find a look that doesn’t work for the Raiders uniforms.

First Place: LA Chargers

Staying in the same division, the Chargers win my favorite uniforms in a landslide. The powder blue is amazing. Even their color rush uniforms are great. Much respect to the San Diego LA Chargers.

WORST

Third Place: Arizona Cardinals.

The Cardinals have a Chicago lineage and for that I’ll always at least respect our cousin that moved out of town for work in Missouri and then retired down in the dry air of Arizona. However, as family, we need to talk about a uniform update. It needs to happen. They look like the 90s arrived in Arizona a couple decades late. These are basically the equivalent of black socks with open toed sandals. When your new franchise player thinks your uniforms are outdated and wants an update, just do it.

Second Place: Atlanta Falcons.

Maybe these things will grow on people but that gradient jersey is something that looks like it should be on the discount rack in the back corner of your local grocery store next to dented cans. The uniforms are an even tougher sell when the rival Buccaneers did a redesign this year too and simply did it better. I imagine these will get another “refresh” sooner rather than later.

First Place (or Worst Place?): The New York Jets

Did you know that the Jets started off as the New York Titans? Did you know their original colors were navy and yellow/gold? Anyway, back to the green and white... and I guess black now for some reason. I don’t say this lightly but I think the Jets uniforms look like a high school team. They took a chance but I think they’re the worst in the league and will likely be redesigned inside of three years... hopefully.

Your turn. What are the best and worst jerseys in the league?
