Only one Chicago Bear makes the CBS Sports Top 100 NFL Players of 2020 list

The way the Chicago Bears are being disrespected this offseason you’d think they were coming off a three win 2019 season...

Chicago Bears’ fans, NFL list season is upon us, so let’s dive right into the first biggie from CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco as he unveiled his Top 100 NFL Players of 2020 list earlier today with only one Bears player to be found.

9) Khalil Mack, Chicago Bears, OLB

For the first time since his rookie season of 2014, he didn’t get double-digit sacks last season. He had 8.5, but he was still a force off the edge for the Bears. By his standards, his season was subpar. By the rest of the league’s standards, he’s still a force who has to be accounted for by an offense.

Even though the numbers weren’t popping off the stat page, Mack was still dominant in 2019. He fought through double and triple teams, but as the only legitimate pass rusher on the field for the Bears, offenses could scheme around him at times. He still ended up with only 2 less quarterback pressures from 2018 according to Pro Football Reference, so it’ll be interesting to see what he does with Robert Quinn rushing from the opposite edge.

Two Bears made Prisco’s “just missed” category, Allen Robinson and Eddie Jackson, and I have a feeling that both of those players are in line for a big time performance in 2020 and a place on his list next year. I also got a returning and healthy Akiem Hicks as a candidate to make some top 100s in 2021 as well.

You guys okay with only Mack making the cut?
