The cardiac kids, Mike Singletary and Wilber Marshall in the poster “Second City Showdown” sure made it interesting. Escaping with a narrow victory in Round 2, the plucky neon poster took the heavy favorite Forged in Fire down to the wire, winning the website vote but losing the Twitterverse to get knocked out. A surprisingly great run from a couple all-time linebackers. Forged in Fire will take on Flash & Smash for a spot in our championship article.

The remaining three matches provided little drama. The poster that I consider the worst effort in the field (I can say that because I make it), Super Bowl Scuffle, finally got bounced by Club Dub Fight Club. The fact that the Khalil Mack - Eddie Jackson poster reached the final four makes me happy - it’s the poster that I created that I like the best. A final four bid might be their Super Bowl because it’ll be going up against The Clash of the Titans, a masterpiece drawn by Whiskey Ranger featuring two all-timers.

Three of the final four posters appear in Part 3 of the series. In fact, these posters cover 1962-1972 with only one year (1964) not covered. It’s truly a golden age of Chicago Bears history and Whiskey Ranger was truly cooking with gasoline when creating these images.
