Chicago Bears training camp is just about here, so the Bears Banter Podcast returns with a great episode with Chicago Bears beat writer for the Chicago Tribune, Brad Biggs!
Biggs dives into a ton of different topics on the podcast: the impact of COVID-19 and how it will impact the NFL season and how the media covers the season, Foles vs Trubisky, how the run game can be improved, if the defense can be closer to the 2018 version than the 2019 version, and if Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace could end up on the hot seat this year.
Biggs also discussed Allen Robinson and if he believes he will receive a contract extension this year. Biggs says that it’s “impossible to say” at this point due to the pandemic and how much of an impact that’s going to have on the NFL and the Chicago Bears financially.
If you read between the lines, Biggs certainly seemed to be leaning against the Bears finalizing an extension with him this offseason, but he did seem confident that if Robinson wasn’t extended, the franchise tag would be in play and that the Bears wouldn’t really consider a 2021 squad without Robinson on the roster.
It’s a great podcast loaded with information, check it out below!
